We're dreaming of a White Bay Christmas, where heritage meets holiday cheer in one unforgettable weekend of festive fun and orchestral brilliance. 

Explore the Balmain Village Markets, taking over the historic Boiler House and Turbine Hall with over 90 local stalls offering handmade gifts, gourmet treats, fashion, homewares, and more – perfect for your Christmas shopping. Plus, be swept away by the sounds of the season a series of ticketed and free concerts from the Sydney Youth Orchestra, filling the Boiler House with world-class orchestral brilliance.

Whether you're shopping for unique gifts, enjoying live music, or soaking in the festive atmosphere, this is your chance to celebrate Christmas in one of Sydney’s most iconic spaces.



 

Saturday 6 December

The Sydney Youth Orchestra Presents Lied Der Nacht

The weekend will open with the Sydney Youth Orchestra's performance of Lied der Nacht, a spectacular 2025 season finale featuring Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 7, “Song of the Night.” Under the baton of internationally acclaimed conductor Stanley Dodds, this ambitious performance showcases the extraordinary talent and emotional depth of Sydney’s finest young musicians.

Arrive early to fuel up on delicious food from local Balmain Village Markets food vendors.

Getting here

Is this your first time visiting White Bay Power Station? You'll find us right at the intersection of Robert and Mullens St in Rozelle. Public transport is the way to go! Catch the 441 or 442 bus that will drop you just a 2 minutes walk from the front gate, or hop on the light rail to Rozelle Bay and take the 15 minute stroll through the Rozelle Parklands. 

There is also a pick up and drop off zone available on Robert St. See map here. 

SPECIAL EVENT BUS 

  • On Sunday 7 Decmeber, there will be special event buses on route 456 operated by Sydney Bus Museum. 
  • Buses will run approximately every fifteen minutes from 9am-5pm. See timetable here.
  • There are three stops on the route including:
    • Sydney Bus Museum (main entrance on Derbyshire Rd, Leichhardt)
    • White Bay Power Station
    • Town Hall Station (Park Street)
