Review of Environmental Factors

A Review of Environmental Factors (REF) has been prepared by The Planning Studio NSW Pty Ltd on behalf of Placemaking NSW (PMNSW). The proposed development includes temporary activation of White Bay Power Station as an arts, cultural and entertainment venue for a range of diverse contemporary uses whilst preserving its industrial legacy as permitted within the Special Uses Zoning (SP1) of the site. The REF assesses potential environmental impacts that could arise from the ongoing temporary events, activation and enabling works at White Bay Power Station from 2024 until a decision is made about the long term use for the building. It also outlines required mitigation measures to resolve any impacts. The REF is available for public information and will be reviewed in 12 months time (August 2025) to ensure that events and activations continue to have limited impact on the community and the environment.

Please see the approved REF here.
